The COCOLILY Social Experience

Hi everyone,

As wedding planners, we’re always staying on top of the newest wedding trends and attending industry events and conferences to stay connected, current and knowledgeable about our passion work. This past weekend, I attended the “The COCOLILY Social” event that took place in Niagara, at The Sheraton on The Falls – and boy, was it worth the drive!

The COCOLILY Social is a one-day creative event for female entrepreneurs to come together in an intimate setting to network and learn from each other through workshops, tea talks, motivational sessions, delicious food (which is always a plus!) and to build authentic connections through meaningful conversations.


This is what is looks like in the main room, with lunch served and speaker, Angie Campanelli, on the stage. She is a Travel Writer & creator of Family Travel Guide, a Huffington Post Blogger, TV Producer,  and Host. Yup, you read it right, all of the above!


During breaks, you can feel free to chat with some of the awesome vendors showcasing on-site. This is Piper Social Media – who you can consider for your company’s social management needs. Loving their brand message already!


I was also inspired by Chic Mamma – they are 2 bloggers who run a website, events and an online community, comprised of new mammas and mammas-to-be who share stories, experiences and advice. As a blogger myself, I cannot wait to grow as they did and continue to do – and will definitely be reaching out to them!


Gabby (Gabriella Mammone , Business Consultant | Event Planner | MS Ambassador)’s story was also very inspiring. We learned how she practices “CRAVE” daily:
C – cut the crap
R – respond, not react
A – appreciate
V – volunteer
E – eat (enjoy you life and what’s in front of you!)

Did I mention that this was our view in some of the chats and sessions? Yep. What a gorgeous day to be in Niagara. I also wanted to give a shout out to Shelagh Cummins – a business coach who gave a lot of great insight on how to accelerate business growth. It was my favourite topic of the day.


Flowers are always a good idea. Thank you, Select Flowers for pretty-ing up the tables and space!


The entire day was filled with a lot of inspiration, connecting with likeminded female entrepreneurs, and no shortage of yummy food from the kitchens of Sheraton on the Falls.

Thank you to all the amazing speakers, organizers and attendees that day! Even as an event volunteer, I got a lot from attending the event. Well worth the 3+ hours of roundtrip travel time – a reminder that sometimes you just gotta do whatever it takes to get you there.


Among those who attended, were:

  • Women who want to learn the ‘how-to’ run a business from the idea process, to company name selection, branding and launching
  • The ground breakers who have everything ready to go but just need exposure, and fabulous networking
  • CEO’s of companies and solopreneurs who lead a company and want to build quality business partnerships through organic collaborations
  • Creative women who want to be inspired, share ideas in a non-competitive atmosphere and build their tribe

Thank you, COCOLILY for the amazing experience and the emphasis on #communityovercompetition and celebration + inspiration. Looking forward to what the future brings when I apply what I’ve got from this past weekend!
