This week, I can’t wait to share with you some behind the scenes of our wedding a few weeks ago, for Maria and Evan. They are one of my favourite couples, and what I love about them are that they trusted Wonder Chic Events completely to design their wedding day, carried through their wedding theme of “Enchanted Garden” in a dimly lit, romantic setting, and they were very appreciative of our work and most importantly, they had an amazing time at their wedding with their family and friends! They didn’t stress about the little things and focused instead on having the best day – which they absolutely did! Follow along below as we share with you some behind the scenes of the day.

M&E decided not to have a western ceremony, as they were already doing the Vietnamese and Chinese Tea Ceremonies. But we wanted them to get that special “First Look” moment where E would see M in her wedding dress for the very first time. All worked out and it was a beautiful moment. :’)
M’s mom is talented not only in cooking and entertaining – but also in crafting beautiful fruit art that rivals that of Edible Arrangements! We were blown away when we saw these fruit arrangements as we arrived to the Bride’s location in the morning to check up on Hair & Makeup, and help prepare for the Door Games and Tea Ceremony.
Did you know that Wonder Chic Events offers small decor rental items like the below? Our couples chose to accept gifts in our mint green birdcage and use our Cork Board (non-scratch) “Just Married” sign behind their limo, which we later repurposed at the Registration/Gift Table.
M&E were one of our Full-service planning couples and of course they deserve the royal treatment! We designed their Seating Chart (with the logo from their Stationary Artist) and had it printed, picked up, delivered and set-up for their Wedding Day. We even brought in the Easels from our “Small Decors Rental Inventory” as the venue was not able to supply the easels we were looking for.
Our team made sure that the Live Band (which was a very important element to the wedding reception) arrived early to setup. Prior to wedding day, we made sure that they had a large enough stage, communicated with Catering to serve them dinner prior to the guests and ensured that they had everything they needed for an all-star performance.
As wedding planners, we also set up small items for our couples, such as menus, favours, place cards, guest book, photo frames, etc. and make sure that each table has the correct number of chairs and place settings, and that all utensils are clean and not chipped. We certainly go the extra mile for our clients and their guests!
We also make sure that the Cake arrives in a timely manner and ensure that we set up a plate, fork, and napkin for our couples to serve each other and depending on their requirements, we also place the toss bouquet, a bottle of champagne with 2 flutes, and sprinkle petals and set out votives to decorate the cake table. The cake serving set and the champagne flutes are also part of our inventory of small decor items.
By the time our M&E walked into the room for the first time… M’s jaw dropped and E’s smile was huge! And that’s what I want for all my couples. They were blown away by the beauty of everything, and that moment, and those expressions, is something I won’t soon forget.
We also made sure that the right colour (in this case, a shade of green), was lit up from the backdrop.
So while our couple and their bridal party and happily taking photos and enjoying some lunch and rest time… the Wonder Chic Events team is hard at work pulling all of the elements together (where a portion of what we do is seen in the above photos). We love what we do and it’s couples like M&E that make it so worthwhile.
